Artwood Teak: Teak is a hard, heavy, elastic, oil-rich wood that resists moisture and impact well, making it a good choice for furniture and interiors. Artwood sources its teak only from plantations in Indonesia.

Colour and treatment: Untreated teak left outdoors shifts from honey-coloured to silver-grey over time. Artwood’s outdoor teak furniture is pre-treated with an environmentally friendly, water-based solution, which gives it a grey tone from the start. Because each piece of wood has a different structure, it absorbs the solution differently, so there may be slight colour differences between tables.

Ageing: The treatment wears off gradually, revealing the natural patina, and the furniture then keeps its silver-grey colour. Occasionally, sap or resin may seep to the surface and leave yellowish stains. This is normal and fades with time. It is also normal for cracks to occur in the wood.
